THE BITTY SET - HANDMADE POTTERY CREAM AND SUGAR SET

There is just something endearing and timeless about a handmade pottery cream and sugar set that is this “itty bitty”.  The hand thrown ‘Bitty Set’ is a darling 5-piece set that includes the Bitty Tray, Lidded Bitty Sugar Bowl, Bitty Creamer, and miniature stainless steel spoon. Your guests will feel honored when you serve the coffee or tea alongside this finely crafted stoneware set.

But consider, the delicate shape of the creamer, the lid, and the sugar pot are all thrown at the potter’s wheel. The pour spout of the creamer is hand shaped while the clay is still soft and the base of each piece is trimmed of excess clay. The tray is rolled and crafted from a clay slab. Clay handles are formed by pressing the clay through the extruder into a long ‘rope’ and cut to size. While the pots are still ‘green’, the handles are attached to the creamer and the tray. The ‘knobby’ of the signature Mountain Arts thumb grip is adhered to the creamer handle and a slot for the spoon is cut in the lid. Each piece is fired in the bisque kiln and the high-fire kiln. Between the firings, glaze is applied to every surface, inside and out, of all four pieces.
